Spanish Sahara is the new release from UK indie rockers Foals. The band have produced a truly beautiful piece of music which many fans will consider a massive change in direction from the hits of the first album, Andidotes. Spanish Sahara is the first single from the band’s new album, Total Life Forever, due out on May 10th.
Hear the song and watch the official video below:
Am I hearing some Crystal Castles influence in the background?…

Here’s a great song from Bristol buddies TC and Joker – both big names in UK dubstep. The song is ironically named ‘It Ain’t Got A Name‘. These guys are genius’…
Unfortunately we can’t get our hands on a good release so here is a Youtube video of the great song – which has been ripped from Ms Mac’s show.

Just as it says…
The awesome duo Crookers are streaming their new album tonight in a chat room from 10pm GMT.

Benny and Neil, better known as Jack Beats, were on the worldwide famous BBC Essential Mix show. A hectic 2 hours of electro, dubstep, house and everything in between.
If you missed it on Friday download it here.

Erol has broadcast his new installment of his BBC Radio 6 Mix residency. I was going to write something nice about Erol but the blurb on 6 Mix does him justice (:P).
“Erol Alkan returns for the next instalment of his 6 Mix residency. One of the most popular DJs in the UK, Erol has also made his name as in-demand producer and remixer, with his rework of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs ‘Zero’ becoming one of the biggest club records of 2009. In his latest show, Erol – who spent the end of 2009 on tour with 2ManyDJs and has recently been working on new material with Late Of The Pier and Mystery Jets – will be playing a selection of hot new tunes picked up on his worldwide DJ travels, from indie to dance, via electro and nu balearica. In the last half hour, Erol will be manning the decks for the latest in his series of ‘secret mixes’ – can you guess what he’s playing?”

I’ll update this when I find a download file.

Yeasayer are a relatively new band on the block – their new album Odd Blood is out soon but the track O.N.E by Yeasayer is, I believe, a fairly mediocre track. This remix by XXXChange certainly improves it by adding a half decent bass line. Now, I’m no musical expert, but the new version is a damn sight better!

Gramophonedzie’s Why Don’t You tune is an excellent example of the cross over many producers are making between old and new music styles (See Cragga – Please Mr Postman for another example).
The single remixes a song which would have been listened to decades ago.

The very talented Riva Starr is on the BBC Essential Mix this week. The London based DJ and Producer has come from no where over the last year and is now one of the most talked about DJ’s in the UK leading the pack into 2010. Riva holds our attention throughout this 2 hour set of loveliness.

Australian electro pop band Peacocks are brillllllllllllliant!
They released their EP, Slide Through The Night, last year to an expectant group of loyal followers after a year in the studio. I’m unsure if they are signed yet but the music the band produces is fantastic.
Our favourite song from their EP is My Addiction. Listen below:

Another Friday, another BBC Essential Mix. This week Annie Mac and Hostage are live from Sugabeat.
