Jägermeister has grown in popularity over recent years and is seen by many as the best thing to come out of Germany. We’ve put together a little list of 7 cocktails and drinks which use Jägermeister as an ingredient, we’ve not tried them all so we can’t promise that they taste nice.
Jager Facts
1) The manufacturers recommend that the drink is consumed cold and should be stored in a freezer at -18 Celsius.
2) Literally translated Jägermeister means “hunt-master”.
3) Jägermeister was originally marketed as a medicinal drink for all purposes – thought to cure anything from a cough to constipation.
4) The drink was created way back in 1935 by a hunter called Curt Mast.
Jager Drinks
Our list of seven ways to drink this herbal liqueur:
1) Shot – 25ml of the dark liquid served super cold.
2) Jagerbomb – a student favourite. Shot of Jägermeister dropped into a glass of Red Bull. (Check the video at the bottom)
3) Jackel and Hyde – 2 shots Jägermeister mixed with an equal amount of Sambuca.
4) Red Headed Slut – Jägermeister, Peach Schnapps and Cranberry Juice. Shake with ice and strain into glass.
5) Snake Bomb – variation of the student favourite, Snake Bite Black. Equal measures of beer and cider with the addition of Blackcurrant cordial and Jägermeister.
6) Liquorice Whip – 2/3 of a shot with Jägermeister mixed with 1/3 a shot of Bailey’s Irish Cream.
7) Golden Elk – a mix of Jägermeister and Goldschläger (Italian Cinnamon Schnapps).
