Freshers’ Tips: Don’t Earn A Reputation

Many universities have already started their freshers’ week. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and, more importantly, to get to know the people you will be studying with over the duration of your course. Each day until the end of September we will be providing you with a helpful tip to maximise your freshers’ week and avoid any embarrassing situations.

Beer-bong-735561Today’s freshers’ tip is avoid earning yourself a reputation! Copious amounts of alcohol in social situations can sometimes lead to embarrassing events. Whilst those situations are incredibly funny, especially when you are not the culprit involved, earning a name for yourself from day one is probably not what you need when you are adjusting to a new life.

A reputation would certainly get you well known amongst other students, however, walking around the university campus and getting high-fives for taking a poo off a roof is not a great reputation to have.

The key thing to remember is you’ll be at university for around three years, thats plenty of time to develop a reputation and a fitting nickname to match. Like a good wine, take things slow and it’ll all slot into place without that embarrassing drunken fall off a wall.
